I'm learning how to make videos, so soon you'll be able to see me dance-painting
(it's new, I made it up) around the canvases to some sweet tunes!

Um, you could seriously sell these as is, that cracks me up, but no...

I have to paint something else on them!!! Top secret for now!

Studio Update

Studio is coming along....

Kristin is a life-saver! I just love my niece! She's only 24, has a great job at NASA, lives on her own and is very independent. Oh, and she's adorable too....I want to be like her when I grow up! A special shout-out to Kristin for helping me in what seems the never ending journey of transforming the "craft room" into a studio.

Not sure if I mentioned before that this room was supposed to be an attic. We decided at the last minute before the house was built 8 years ago that I should have a room dedicated to my crafts....I won't tell you what my husband calls it, I've cleaned it up a bit for blog purposes. That's why we have the funny roof lines, etc.

Love the floor.....can you believe it's vinyl? They have come a long way!

So now the cabinets and shelves - November 4th and 5th are the install dates! I will post more pics! Hmmmm.....the overwhelming reality of putting everything back into the studio is enough to make me want to go to lunch.....

CHA Summer 2009

CHA SUMMER 2009 WAS CHA-TASTIC!

First, sorry this is a little late, but life happens.....first recover, then get swamped, then lose sleep and wake up and 5:00 a.m. on a Saturday for no good reason and get-r-done. That's just the way I roll and most of you know that and still tolerate me! LOL!

CHA Summer took place at the County Convention Center July 31 - August 1, 2009, in Florida this year and featured the first CHA Craft SuperShow open to the public. It was an amazing event to say the least. CHA always rocks, but having the consumer show on the tail end of it made it that much more fun and exciting. For those of you who aren't familiar with CHA, it is basically a big "market" for the craft industry. You have retailers and buyers from all walks of life and there are two shows each year, one in the winter and one in the summer. All of the latest and greatest upcoming craft products in the industry are launched and demonstrated and if you're like me, it's a total rush and you just get lost in all the possibilities!

CHA offers classes and forums and this celebrity panel of craft royalty were amazing as they presented “The Future of Crafts: Our Changing Face.” Host Terri O. questioned the panel about the past and future trends of crafting.

From left to right, host Terri O. , Kathy the Crafty Chica, Vickie Howell, Donna Dewberry, and Carol Duvall, who paved the way for television crafters! Each of these ladies offered their knowledge in the industry and it was exciting to hear how the industry has changed and how although the Internet has basically changed our lives, nothing beats a good ol' face-to-face crafting session and quality time with family and friends.

Me and my great friend, Donna Dewberry, who taught me to paint and help me create a path for myself in this industry and to whom I am forever grateful!

Many of you know I am a Plaid Ambassador and I'm so blessed to be able to use the many wonderful products Plaid has to offer and demonstrate them at the show! For this show, I was demonstrating Extreme Glitter and Simply Screen, both great new products. Extreme Glitter is already in stores and Simply Screen will be out in September I believe!

Ok, so here's Simply Screen, check out the website by clicking on the logo! We've taken the concept of Silk Screening and made it simple. The reception to the product was flooring! I counted - at times 50 people were standing in line at the consumer show waiting to try this product!

Samples of cool applications of Simply Screen. Basically, you take an adhesive-backed screen, apply it to your fabric and you can either paint with a brush or squeegee paint across the screen. Lift and BAM - sweet success! You can also replace the paint for an adhesive product and apply metallic foils or glitter over the top........mmmmmmmmmm, glitter, focusss, focuss, must finish blog.

Check out the fab ornament tree and these awesome wreaths! Even the wall is done in Silver Extreme Glitter! The fun thing about EG is combining colors on the inside of glass ornaments and shaking them up to see the results....great gifts for Christmas!

Kind of hard to see, but this tree was our office entrance, but also showed our popular jewelry lines. We have a new one called Petals a Plenty, kind of vintage and very cool. I love taking jewelry and using it collage style with my paintings!

This was the fourth wall of our both just showing peeps with product!

So of course, other great companies were there and there are always fabulous samples of projects. I didn't get much time out of the booth, but did snap a few shots. In the madness, I lost track of where some of the photos came from , but I believe these are all Ranger.

Now, girlfriend, I KNOW where these next three are from, one of my favorite scrapbooking companies of all time ever.....Graphic 45, love their vintage style and their projects are always over the top. Even if you're not a scrapper, you just have to love the art.

Another favorite company of mine is Tattered Angels, love their Glimmer Mist products, chip boards and screens, check them out!

These next few I don't remember the product details, but how inspiring they all are, just had to share!

Oh and look below, images of fall and Halloween. As crafters, we must face it, the HOLIDAYS HAVE ARRIVED, so go forth, glue gun by your side, brush in hand and glitter in your heart and DREAM - CREATE - INSPIRE! ....and eat, holidays are all about the food, we all know that.

Craft Room Makeover! Progress!

Many of you have asked me to post pics as my during my craft room renovation. We have decided officially that after the renovation, the room will be referred to as a studio rather than a craft room (he-he).

I'm posting pics of some things we have done so far (ribbon wall in walk-in attic above) and of the room being cleared out so that whatever "lucky" contractor we hire will be able to walk in there (yes I admit at times there was only a small path from the doorway to the table) and do what they need to do. As we remove everything, we are organizing it in boxes so that I can still work and meet my deadlines during the transition. I have also either thrown away or donated over 20 large bags of "art supplies" to put it nicely!

Our studio makeover days usually begin with Munch and Trixie waiting for cousin Kristin (my niece) to arrive! She brings kolachees and donuts so it's extra fun! They are looking down below at the kitchen door from the loft!

I am so blessed. My husband and I have only been in this house 7 years. When we designed it, there were no studio plans upstairs. From the time we designed the house until we built it, that is how fast my business grew. I knew I would need an area for this. So, we converted what was to be a walk-in attic into a studio for me - WITH A SINK!!!!! How much does that rock! I'm telling you this so you understand when you look at the room why the ceiling lines are so strange! God is good and I'm so fortunate to do what I love in my own home for part of my living. I still work outside of the home too part of the week, but everyday I'm just a little closer to my dream of doing my artwork full-time!

Once we pack things up, they either go on shelves in other rooms, like the bathroom below, or in my make-shift studio (husband's mancave - yes, he said I could). The mancave is where I am working until all of this is done.

This next few pics show my walk in attic area that leads to the hot-water heather. The door to this room is in my studio, so why not make great use of it!! I'm putting things in here that do not need to be climate controlled. On the right wall, I have surfaces to paint on and on the left is the Wall O'Ribbon, which has already proven to be VERY handy!

That's about it for now! Kristin and I will work on this tomorrow evening together and on Saturday, we meet with the first contractor...wish us luck!! If you have any ideas for us, we would love to hear them! Send them to angela@angelaandersondesigns.com!

SERIOUSLY PINK GIRLY ROOM!!

What is hot pink, has zebra stripes, a New York skyline and fashion elements galore? Jenna's Boutique, that's what!!!

Jenna is a cutie and she wanted her room done in hot pink zebra. She has a passion for fashion and her mom, Jeaneatte, even has her own jewelry, purses and general girly stuff business called Jewels by Jeanette.

When Jeaneatte asked me to design this room, I was all over it. I LOVE to do little girls' rooms and she gave me free reign on this one! I always love to hear that! My sister Judy is an interior decorator, so when we team up, there's no stopping us really!

So we started out by having the walls painted pink and picking out the bedding and we just decided to add in a shopping trip to New York!

I started out by sketching in the skyline and then my niece Audrey helped me paint it in solid black. I then just took a brush and added windows with purple, neon green and pinks...added a little glitter so they would shine with the lights!!

Now this area was fun. I painted zebra on the ceiling and on the fan blades. Check out this ceiling medallion. It was white to start with, painted it black and added pink accents and a double-dose of bling!

This is such a cute piece of furniture from Potter Barn Kids. When it opens, it has message boards, drawers, etc., really cute. I added JF with scrolls above it so Jenna could have her own brand like Juicy Couture!

This is my favorite part. I had Jenna stand near the wall and did the old lamp trick to outline her shadow. So that is actually Jenna headed to that New York skyline with her dog Princess to shop baby!

I also painted little purses, shoes and jewelry hanging down from these scrolls. We even glued bling to the wall around Jenna's neck, the dog for the collar and various other places.

What shopping experience would be complete without a fitting room? This is Jenna's closet and I just painted scrolls and the words "Fitting Room" above it.

I created a lot of the accessories for the room too. These mirrors were just plain black and I added the fur trim around the edges and painted the scrolls. Another cool piece of furniture here, this unit spins around and all the storage is hidden!

Judy and I hung everything on the walls and placed all the chotskis! Mucho fun!

Judy helped add the fabric pieces to our lady here and I painted the chalkboard to the right hanging on the wall. Jenna's name is on it in pink glitter at the bottom, kind of hard to see in this pic though. This is one of the pieces that was on the episode of Paint, Paper & Crafts I filmed last year that aired recently on PBS.

All in all, everyone is very happy with the way it turned out. I have a sign to make for the door that says Jenna's Boutique and a few other little things to do, but I thought I would just have to share this for all those girly girls out there! Hopefully you can get some ideas for fun ways to spruce up your girls' rooms!

SDP Convention 2009

SDP Convention 2009

was a blast!

I had so much fun at my first SDP convention. I can see why people return year after year. The painting classes were great and the trade show had much to offer! I was helping out in the Martin / F. Weber booth and my good friend Patty Reichenbach, who manages the trade shows and for Weber and demonstrates (Queen of) Bob Ross oil painting, asked me to put together a fabric painting kit for the show and it turned out to be a lot of fun.

I thought I would share a few pics with you guys!

How about painting royalty? This great picture is of Ros Stallcup, Stan Brown and Sue Schewee! I LOVE THE WAY THESE GIRLS PAINT!

Talk about talent! Jane and Bard demonstrate for Sue Schewee in the Weber booth and man, they are the BOMB! I love these girls. Patty calls them Chip and Dale, but we started calling Barb "Cougar" on the trip, but I won't bare the details behind that! LOL!

This girly won the big basket at the end of the show. I could pinch myself for not remembering her name, but she was a sweetheart and LOVED all the goodies. She is standing with Patty who's looking pretty darn cute in this picture!

Ok - talk about crowd control! This is a picture of Patty's make-it-take-it, where you can sit down in the booth and actually paint this with Patty in about an hour. Not one single painting looked bad, they were all gorgeous and people were standing and waiting 3-deep behind each chair to do this with Patty. This painting is done with the Bob Ross method and she only used two colors....plus....yeah baby....some GLITTER! That's all you have to tell me and I'm all over it!

Here's Patty looking pretty cute again and that canvas wasn't blank for long!! OMG...Patty actually got up early and jogged before the show...what-ev....like anyone does that! = P

Now these ladies were all sisters at the show...look how great their paintings turned out!

Ok, now you could look at this picture and say there's Angela painting Bob Ross style, but I must confess. My job was to come in at the end of each session and sprinkle the glitter on the paintings. What can I say, Patty knows when to call in the experts! = )

This cutie pa-tootie is Ashley Knowles. She is Dawn Knowles' daughter, creator of Interactive Artist Magazine, and grandaughter of Dennis Kapp, CEO of Weber, pictured below with Ash. I love this kid, she's all over the register and already better at sales than I'll ever be! Oh, by the way, I will be featured in Interactive Artist Magazine in August and painting the jacket that is at the bottom of this blog!

These are the new wOils, oil paints you can mix and clean with water. Patty put up that rockin' canvas so everyone could paint with the new paints and give them a try!!

Patty rocked my jacket display. She brought this great garment rack and I took several painted jackets that we hung for people to see the technique and bling/embellish factor. The Angela Anderson Fabric Painting kit made for Weber is hanging to the left of the rack and on the rack in the picture below. I was very humbled by the response to the jackets. I had a lot of positive feedback and people really seemed to enjoy them. I sold out of the kits on the second day, God is good and I am blessed to be able to do something I can share with others.

Now this beautiful angel is Sandy Braun. Sandy saw my jackets the first day and loved them. She just had to have this one and I can see why. She looks great in it! Plus, Sandy wore this the second day of the show and said she had so many compliments on it. She was working with Bobbie Takashima and in Jo Sonja's booth. Sandy is probably the reason the kits sold out truth be known. Thank you Sandy, you really gave me a confidence booth and the jacket looks fantabulous on you!

Passport to Fun!

Well, I have my passport to fun and I am Peoria bound tomorrow! I am so excited to attend my first SDP (Society of Decorative Painters) annual convention. You can read about the society and more about the conference here.

I have completed the fabric painting kit (Country Rose Denim Jacket pictured below) for Martin/ F. Weber and here is a picture of the end result. This packet has 6 tubes of Prima Acrylic Colors and Prima Fabric Medium. It also has a brush and chalk for sketching on fabric. The disc that comes with it contains a .pdf of full instructions, step-by-step color photos and patterns, everything you need to paint this fun jacket.

Wish me luck! I hope it sells well and here's reminder pics of the jacket, but there are more pics in an older blog you can look back on!

I will try to do some mobile uploads to Facebook and take lots of pictures for a post show blog. I hope to see some of you there!

What It's All About...

This post isn't about my artwork or that of anyone else in the industry (yet), no website or product to review, but just a story to share from the heart.....

The other day my niece came over and she helped me organize my craft supplies in my studio. It's a huge task...I'm pulling everything out so I can redo the studio this year. It was one of those days where her sisters were doing other things and her Mom thought she might want to do something to pass the time, so she came over!

Anyway, I thought cleaning and organizing craft supplies would be something "fun" (ha-ha) we could do together. Surprisingly, it actually did turn out to be quite fun and Audrey was a wonderful help. I thought surely she would rather be doing something else, but she hung in there as we put stamps and thread and buttons away, organizing as we went.

I promised as we came across things that I didn't need any longer that she could have them. We started with a small box and it was quickly filled. We then switched to a larger box and filled it. We finally ended up with this larger box and a bag of goodies for Audrey and we made a lot of progress working together. I kind of explained to her what I was giving her, but told her she could use these things any way she wanted. Audrey is very creative, I knew she'd come up with several ideas from these supplies.

To my surprise and amazement, I received this thank you letter (hope you can read it) and this beautiful work of art from Audrey within just a few days of our time spent together. Audrey is only 10 years old. I was so touched by her detailed thank you note, what a sweetheart!

I wanted to share this for the obvious reasons, but the not-so-obvious reasons too. Sometimes we get soooo busy and forget that just a couple of hours together with a child can mean so much to them. Although she said thank you when she left, I really had no idea until I got these wonderful things just how thankful she was. Audrey will obviously enjoy her art supplies for many months and I have a great suspicion that unlike her Aunt, she won't be giving any extras away.

Thanks Audrey, it seems I should have been the one to send the thank you card! This is truly what it is all about! You make a difference whether you know it or not!

Bev Davis Makes Great Use of a Project Idea!!

Back in May, I posted a link on the Angela Anderson Designs Facebook Fan Page to a fun project using clipboards. This link was to Jo Pearson of Where Creativity Happens (Michaels) and showed a video of her making this fun little clipboard project. This is the project that inspired a good friend of mine, Bev Davis, to make her own!

So Bev was so inspired, that she created these fun clipboards that have her own twist! They are adorable. We love them!!!

I love dogs and this one is first because it's my favorite! Great job Bev!!

This one is especially meaningful and truly a great idea, way to go Bev!
The strength of women always amazes me, great project!

Look at this! Makes you want to dive right in! Wouldn't this be cute for a lifeguard!!

Then, that sweet Bev! She got to painting a shirt that was inspried by a few of my designs, but again, has her own flair and beautiful twist on it!

Country Roses Denim Jacket

Hey there! Well, I have been back at it, creating more "Diva Duds,"

just can't stay away from the fabric painting for too long!

My good friend Patti at Martin/F. Weber asked me to create a fabric painting kit for SDP this year for their Painting: Passport to Fun! painting convention this year in Peoria. You can find out more about thte convention at their website. This is my first time to go to this convention,

so if you're there, please come visit me in the Weber booth!

So, what I used Weber's Prima Acrylic Colors and their Fabric Medium to paint on this denim jacket. I am almost done with the instructions and they will be step-by-step photo instructions - always helpful to artsy types, right!

I found this jacket at a great price and pulled off the buttons. I then purchased this cute fabric and replaced the buttons with buttons I had covered! I don't know if you've ever used button covers, but if you can cut out a piece of fabric, that's all you need to know -
very simple way to take your Diva Duds to the next level!

I know this design looks advanced, but my photo instructions make it easy to follow. I will launch the pattern at the show in SDP, but will then make it available as an e-packet on line.

Ok, so then you're saying what are those little trinkets all over the jacket. Well....with my same cute fabric and these wonderful Yo-yo Makers by Clover, I was in business! I knew with the help of my Mom, she is a sewing genious and all-around wonderful helper, I could add a fun quilter's look to the jacket! Clover ROCKS!

I love their collection of tools for embellishing fabrics.

I was very excited to find these fun tools at my local Jo-Anns,

but you can buy them online at the Clover website.

Mom then sewed the eyelet around the collar, pockets and sleeves, but you know what? You don't even have to sew because the rest of the embellishments were put on with Fabri-Tac, my absolute FAVORITE glue for painting on fabric! I could have glued the eyelet on too and would have had to if it wasn't for Mom - thanks Mom!!

In these pictures, you can see some cute buttons I hand-sewed to the Yo-yos. I found some of these buttons at Jo-Ann, a Vintage collection by Blumenthal Lansing Co.

I also took some scrapbooking fabric covered embellishments called Sticthed Brads by K and Company - they had several kinds. I just used my clippers to clip the brads off and my Fabri-Tac to glue them to the Yo-yos and some directly to the jacket.

I hope you like it, would love to hear some feedback. I have designed several jackets this year, but have not yet put together the instructions. I need to make some e-packets! I guess I think I'm busy or something (wink-wink)!!

Nuttin's Buggin' Me!

my friend Chris Williams with Plaid Enterprises.

Chris is the Marketing Education Director for Plaid and man is she creative.
Sometimes it's hard to find projects for boys, so Chris did it for us!

A New Season of Paint Paper & Crafts!

A new season of Paint Paper & Crafts began airing on Wednesdays, May 6, 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. EST on some PBS stations througout the country. The line-up of crafts is nothing short of great this year and Sloan Payne-Rutter does yet another year of great hosting.

I was so happy when Sloan asked me to be in two episodes and I thought I would give you a sneak peak at what will be on the show! Unfotunately, I don't think PPC is airing in the Houston area, but the good news is that I think the links to the shows will be put on the PPC website in the future. The past season is up right now, but hopefull the new one will follow shortly.

VINTAGE PAINTING - CHALKBOARDS & MORE!

This is an oval canvas basecoated in Plaid's new Chalkboard Paint!

A great surface and is both beautiful and functional, can't beat that!

I really love how these vintage frames turned out. My grandparents are in the one to the left, my Mom center and her sister, Aunt Audrey is to the right. The frames were specially made by my friends at Cabin Crafters! The people at CC were amazing and I just love them!

This was just a lap desk I painted with Plaid's purple Chalkboard paint. I then applied a few of those little pre-made critters you can find ready to go at your local craft store (for pennies I might add) and you are good to go! I used acrylic paint to add a little movement in the water and trailing dots behind the dragon flies....very simple and so much fun for the kiddos!

Another canvas!! I painted the top portion with Plaid's pink Chalkboard Paint and the bottom with white acrylic paint and black zebra stripes. I then bought dimensional letters, painted them pink and covered them in glitter for just the right amount of tween bling! I then added some furry trim to separate the chalkboard area from www.atreasurenest.com! They have the best trims!

The wholesale company is known as Expo International.

Plaid Launches New Trend Colors!

Plaid launched four new trend color collections this year: Charleston Charm, Urban Restoration, Royal Tapestry, and Coastal Mist. I was honored to be chosen to create the projects for these new palettes that were featured in the Plaid booth at CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) this past January.

I put together instructions for a few of the projects and Plaid has done a great job of making them available to you on their website. When you click on the links for each collection, you will then see individual projects and instructions you can click on.

For the projects that weren't featured on the website, I will try to provide some additional pictures in upcoming blogs so you can see everything!

It was a lot of fun doing these "crafty" projects (getting away from the decorative painting a bit for a change) and I really enjoyed it!

One of the things I did when I got the assignment was head to Hobby Lobby. They were having a 50% off sale on their home decor items and I snatched things up that I thought would be conducive to color altering. It was so easy to take something that was really inexpensive, change the colors and make it match Plaid's palettes. I'm telling you this because with very little effort, you can alter something you may love or find on sale that doesn't quite match your home! Just add some paint and presto! You have something that is perfect for your decor!

I hope you can find some inspiration! It all had to be done in about 4 weeks from the shopping to the shipping, so I have to give a shout out to my peeps, Mom Dorothy and sister Joan, because I couldn't have done it without them! Thanks guys!

I have also posted some pics on my friend page on Facebook. I'm not sure if you are on Facebook, but if not, it is a great source for staying in touch with the crafting world and today's trends. My fan page on Facebook is here and I try to post frequently there as well. The friend page just has everything, but the fan page is devoted to crafty stuff!

Where Women Create

So I am doing a total re-do on my studio this year. I've begun to pull everything out (sigh). I really don't even know where to begin. I've been getting some great ideas from friends our yahoo group, but still haven't put it all together.

See, it's just that I, like most of you, dabble in everything and do so much more than paint. You just have to have a little bit of this and that at your disposal to suit all of your creative whims, right? I love to embellish and my embellishments have taken over my studio, so it's time to get it together! I want to be inspired when I walk in my studio, not be sick...LOL!

I found a couple of books and a website devoted to creative spaces for women. Jo Packham has authored a couple of amazing books on the subject and then teamed up with the people at Stampington / Somerset Studio (OMG, love everything they publish) to devote a magazine to the subject. The website for the magazine can be found here.

I thought I would share the research because I know we are always looking for creative ways to store our things. It's almost an art in and of itself, isn't it? So, I will post pics during my journey to organization! I know, I know, it will be a long one, but well worth it. I over-think everything! I am equally right/left brained, so constant inner battle. A late spring cleaning that will last through next spring if you will. = ) I'm doing some remodeling too, so it will not go quickly I'm sure. We will share the journey!

Finally, I wanted to show you a great find. Michaels had their JetMax storage items on sale week before last for 50% off. Here's the link. I purchased several of these items. These storage solutions seem viable for any type of craft. There are many different items to choose from that all go together and at 50% off (which I'm sure they will do again), you can't beat it! I'll post pics when I get everything up!

So you know, every time you give someone something you make or share your creativity with someone, you share a bit of yourself and bring joy into their lives. I'm thinking a well-organized studio ("studio" sounds so much more official than "craft room," don't you think...lol), would bring a fresh start and new inspiration to your creativity that will allow you to bring that joy into someone's life. It's a cycle and one that I am grateful to God to be a part of!

Miss Allison's Room

Miss Allison's Room

Awww, isn't Allison so cute! We painted her room today and as you can see, she is one happy customer!

Allison's Mommy had already done a great job of decorating Allison's room, but she wanted to bring a little of the outdoors in to bring it all together. With a few whimsical out-doorsy elements here and there, Allison's room became quite enchanting.

"Dreams really do come true..." are the words above the window and add just the right amount of charm. The letters were done in a cutsie style with vines, rosebuds and butterflies!

A treen in the corner is the focal point. Vines with leaves scroll up and around the tree with little tiny blossoms to make it girly!!

Allison's dresser was just plain white, so why not spruce it up?? We added adorable little rosebuds in yellow and pink. Pink is Allison's favorite color, but Mommy didn't want to over-do the pink (it's my favorite color too Allison). So, we kept things green mostly because even the slightest amount of pink will take over a room fast!

We added a patch of grass and flowers at the base of the tree and to the left of Allison's cute table. Can you see Allison's caddy of creativity? Way to go Mom! I think you may have a future artist on your hands!

Last but not least, Allison's Mommy found these beautiful butterflies and cute little fairy at a boutique in Fredericksburg, Texas. She wanted to add scrolls around the butterflies, so we did just that!

An Enchanted Evening.......

Let's Celebrate!!

I am very excited to have met one of my deadlines today!! I shipped these projects off to Plaid this afternoon to be featured as upcoming wedding projects on their website. I am assuming they are after the whole "June wedding" thing. I don't know if you guys have seen or tried Plaid's new Extreme Glitter, but I LOVE IT! I mean, we all know I'm a glitter girl and everything, but to have all the fine beautiful glitter in the paint and no glitter dust everywhere....I'm just sayin'!!

This is a picture of the whole collection above and then I've broken them down in group pictures below.

Small clay pots basecoated with FolkArt Acrlyic colors with an application of Extreme Glitter to finish them off with the perfect amount of sparkle!!

OMG!!! I found these cute ornate frames for $1.00 at Michaels....HURRY!!!!

You can apply FolkArt acrylic paint if needed and top off with...yep...EXTREME GLITTER!

This just started out as one of those plain white guest books, added Extreme Glitter to a scrapbooking page, covered the book, added some embellishments and BAM! That's what I'm talkin' about! Easy!!

This is the inside cover of the guest book. Notice the litte Faux Show charm on the little ribbon for a place keeper. I also added tabs on the side to record guests at the wedding, shower, and reception. Plaid's new jewelry line, Faux Show, is so haute, it has made a jewelry maker out of me!

Here I started out with just plane black, white and magenta gift bags. A few rub-on applications, some paper-crafting techniques, a few rose petals and poof!!!...instant gift-tage for the whole wedding party.

Last, but not least, simple rub-on's were applied to plane white favor boxes followed by a coat of Extreme Glitter. A few embellishments and you're good to go!

So, how's that for an enchanted evening? With our economy, these are all very inexpensive ways to make your wedding event special. None of these projects are difficult, so dive right in.

Oh, and BTW, I love Nashville Wraps! I get my sparkly tissue paper and other fun packaging and gift wrapping items from them. You do have to order in bulk, but it's great for like ornament boxes and things you need to stock up on!

Midwest Design Imports have my favorite feathers. This is a wholesale site, but you can see what products they offer and look for them in your local craft store.

Ok, so I'm really excited about the fact that I have posted two blogs this week. I redesigned our Yahoo Group page and I've been posting there more often as well. Please join the group if you haven't already! Now, back to work!! I'm very focused (don't laugh)!

Greetings!

I'm finally back!!! Life is busy and I am still juggling two careers, so I do what I can when I can...you know how that is!! I really do wish there were more hours in the day! Wouldn't it be so nice if we could just paint and help others all day?? LOL!! That would be a blessing!

I am so honored to have been chosen to be a part of Donna Dewberry's "Dewberry Design Team." I really wanted to share this wonderful opportunity for you to get some great project ideas. Sandy McTier and Donna Dewberry teamed up to make this all happen and it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Four of Donna's teachers, myself included, plus Sandy McTier, April Numamoto and Diane Pozzie were chosen by Donna to create projects to be shared with our One Stroke community. I have a personal goal to get my website functional by the end of the year. My goal for January was to have it up, that was half the battle. I am now working on the content and hope to have that done soon!

Wow - I'm actually writing a blog! Who would have thought! This will be the beginning of what I hope to be a great resource for decorative painting and crafts. I am in the process of having a new website designed and have a book due out this summer. I will certainly keep you updated! In the mean time, I could resist sharing this picture of my baby and assistant painter, Trixie Marie Anderson. She helped with the carrot harvest this year. I snapped this picture just about the time my husband was trying to interfere with her carrot consumtion!
